Emptiness & Impermanence Retreat

May 12-17, 2023 with Gen Samten Kelsang

Retreat Cost:
Fri-Sun | $70   Full Retreat | $135

Impermanence is the doorway to emptinessEmptiness is the doorway to liberation.

In this retreat, we will explore the deep and profound meditations on subtle impermanence. Subtle impermanence helps us relate to ourselves and the world around us in a flexible and light way. We let go of the past and stay centered in the present. A lot of the psychological pain we carry around with us is from constantly recreating a past version of ourselves in the present moment. We do this because of a tragic and flawed assumption that we are simply a slightly updated version of the person we were yesterday, or one year ago, or ten years ago. Thus, we carry the pain of the past with us like a bundle of thorns on our back.
In reality, we are changing constantly. In each day and in every moment we are born new. When we realize this through the power of meditation our whole life changes beyond our wildest dreams. Every day carries new possibilities, we have more love for the people around us, and more joy within our hearts.

Subtle impermanence opens our mind to the truth of emptiness. By relating to every area of our life as flux and change we naturally become more easygoing and grasp onto things less tightly. We realize that the world we normally see does not last for a single fleeting moment. From here we are able to shift our understanding slightly and realize the world we normally see does not exist at all. We realize the truth of emptiness in a very natural and organic way.

Seven Points of Training the Mind

November 10-15, 2023 with Gen Kelsang Devi

REGISTRATION OPENS
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13TH @2PM EST

Wisdom and compassion are like two wings of the bird that fly us to our own awakening. Wisdom without compassion is sterile, but compassion without wisdom is directionless. Training the Mind in Seven Points and its commentary, Universal Compassion, take the practitioner step-by-step on how to train our mind so that we can awaken our wisdom and compassion. First, we see how to cultivate a wise heart that is powerful and potent. Then, we see how we can transform the challenges of life into opportunities for growth and development. Finally, there are timeless and precise strategies for directly making positive change day-by-day, month-by-month, and year-by-year even amidst a busy lifestyle as a modern person.
