In addition to overseeing the spiritual program and teaching at KMC New York, Gen Samten regularly teaches throughout the US and world. He is renowned for the clarity of his teachings and his ability to help students improve their meditation practice, taking them to deeper levels of experience.
Second Teacher, Kadam Kyle Davis
Over the past seven years, Kadam Kyle has taught at the NKT centers in Boston, MA, New Bedford, MA and Providence, RI. He was appointed as the Second Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center New York.
Kadam Kyle has engaged in in-depth study at both the Temple in New York and on the Special Teacher Training Program at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre. His joyful and sincere example in daily life, and his clear and practical approach in teachings, have inspired many people in their spiritual life. Kadam Kyle also teaches at Vajradhara Center in Brooklyn.
What is Faith?
Gen Samten talks about his experience of faith and how it developed for him.
Faith is as important as concentration when meditating. We all have the experience of pushing in meditation. This comes from believing meditation is simply about concentration. When we discover faith is the heart of meditation everything changes. We take a different approach, seeking joy and beauty (which is admiring faith) in meditations such as precious human life, compassion, and emptiness. Suddenly concentration comes naturally, without pushing.
