Modern Kadampa Buddhism
Designed to meld with the busy, hectic pace of our lives, Modern Buddhism is a transformative meditation program rooted in the thousand-year-old lineage of Kadampa Buddhism. It is presented for each and every person in order to help them begin, make progress on, and ultimately complete their own spiritual path.
Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche
Founder of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union. Through his kindness and guidance, Venerable Geshe-la has trained hundreds of qualified teachers who are teaching in centers all around the world.
Modern Kadampa Teachers
The New Kadampa Tradition has pioneered a presentation of the ancient wisdom of meditation and Buddhism so that it can be incorporated into modern life.
International Temples Project
Our international Buddhist community has made a profound impact through hundreds of meditation centers in cities and towns worldwide.
Venerable Geshe-la shows how Buddha’s teachings can be used by anyone, Buddhist or not, to solve their daily problems, improve their personal relationships and eventually attain a deep and lasting happiness and peace. Geshe-la has devoted his life to creating all the necessary conditions to support the study and practice of Buddhism in modern society, writing twenty-two highly acclaimed books, establishing over 1,200 meditation centers and groups throughout the world, developing modern study programs, training qualified meditation teachers; and establishing local, national and international courses, events and festivals. Through these immeasurably kind actions Geshe-la has laid the foundation for everyone in this troubled world to discover lasting inner peace and happiness.
International Temples Project
The International Temples Project was founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, with the aim to introduce the Buddhist faith and practice of
the New Kadampa Tradition publicly, and to exemplify contemporary Buddhist practice through service to the public. It presently achieves this through building traditional and non-traditional temples, meditation and retreat centers, and through the activities of world peace cafés and Tharpa Publications.
“Just looking at a Temple with a happy mind places good imprints on our mind and brings inner peace. Through the power of this special object, problems such as anger and attachment are reduced.” Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
