Every parent wants their child to be happy, healthy, and successful in life. Through simple Buddhist teachings and meditations, children will learn methods to solve their problems, keep a peaceful mind, and become happy individuals.Families will be gently guided through relaxing meditations, giving them techniques to gain confidence, concentration, and consideration for others. These classes include discussions relevant to children’s everyday experiences, story-telling, activities, and crafts. They are designed to help them see things in a way that makes them calmer and happier.

We kindly ask that one parent accompanies their child/children in this class held in the Main Building. Adults will be able to view the Prayers For World Peace class happening at the same time in the Temple.

Families Weekend

August 16 – 18  | Registration Opens June 3rd at 2pm est.

A chance for families to meet, have fun, and enjoy a fun weekend with a difference! Using periods of silence and quiet contemplation, all the family can learn to overcome anxiety and other negative minds and experience the joy of a life without worry.
The activities, which include drama, art, and outdoor games, are designed to help children develop the skills of how to maintain a happy mind – even when things don’t go our way. The weekend also offers both children and parents an opportunity to discover the practical value of periods of silence and quiet contemplation: meditation for all the family. All families are welcome, whether Buddhist or not.

Share a Meal

We invite you to share a meal with us and meet our Kadampa Buddhist community! For only $7 you can enjoy a delicious meal with our residential community (including ordained Buddhist monks and nuns) and other class attendees and enjoy meaningful conversations with like-minded people.

All of our meals are vegetarian with vegan and wheat-free options. We use fresh and local products as much as possible. These meals include a main dish, side dish and green salad and are serve-yourself. Our meals are lovingly cooked by volunteers.
