Saturday Workshop: Overcoming Anxiety
10am-1pm

We need to learn what we can and cannot control. When we emphasize controlling our mind instead of just external things, we feel empowered. Anxiety principally occurs when we feel we cannot find happiness inside ourselves, and this can be worked on through training. ln this half-day workshop, we will explore how to accept the anxiety we are dealing with, and kindly work with ourselves and our mind to gradually reduce and eventually abandon it. In particular, we will see how we can use special, time-tested meditation techniques to accomplish this inner freedom.

Saturday Workshop: How to Deeply Relax
10am-1pm

Peace doesn’t mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be at peace even when our circumstances seem difficult. When our mind is peaceful we feel happy regardless of what surrounds us. Through becoming familiar with meditations that help our mind to relax we can enjoy our life without depending on the situations around us going the way we want them to all the time. Saturday Workshop: Making Meditation a Habit
10am-1pm

Meditation can seem difficult when its unfamiliar; to get over the initial hurdle, we need to make it a habit. The more we practice, the more we enjoy meditating. This is because we start developing our own sense of centering our awareness and experiencing inner peace. We see for ourselves the deep healing effect it has on our body and our mind, and as a result how much better our relationships are with others. Everything improves when we control over our mind and remains calm. In this talk, we will learn simple and effective techniques to start or enhance our meditation practice that will stick with us throughout our life.

Saturday Workshop: Opening the Heart
10am-1pm

The heart is where our power lies. To protect themselves, people often close and harden their hearts. This is a disservice to ourselves and others! We don’t need to be afraid. Instead, we should learn how to tap into the reservoir of strength inside of us through meditation. In this course, we will see how to develop our love by reflecting on our joint interconnectedness and allowing a love based on gratitude to arise. There will be simple, accessible meditations and plenty of time to enjoy the peace of inner stillness. Everyone welcome!

Saturday Workshop: Stand Up to Anger
10am-1pm

Stand up to anger. Learn the art of acceptance. Patient acceptance is not gritting our teeth and putting up with things. Instead, it means learning to wholeheartedly welcome whatever arises in our life. Instead of constantly getting upset about inconveniences and running away from difficulties, we can learn to respond confidently and strongly to whatever challenges we encounter. The teachings on how to practice patient acceptance dissolve away the intensity of our anger. We can learn why anger and non-acceptance only cause problems in our life and how to develop an intention to let these experiences go. In addition, we can see where anger comes from psychologically and how to oppose it in a healthy and thorough way.
