SARATOGA SPRINGS: Tuesdays 7 - 8:30pm
The Healing Power of Love
September 9-30
Embrace loving-kindness. Love is a wish for others to be happy, or to have a peaceful, positive mind. It is not a wish for them to simply get what they want, but instead for them to find the peace that we all long for. It is not a docile or simply passive attitude, but a protective, strong state of mind.
Meditations on love heal our anger, resentment, judgement, and low self-esteem, and they also bring about healing in our relationships. As we grow our confidence through finding happiness from our love, we are able to really be there for our family, friends, and community. We become a source of inspiration to others, and a force for good. We will look step-by-step how to cultivate love in meditation and how to integrate it with our busy lives. Everyone welcome!

Practical Steps to Build a Better World
October 14 - November 4
Step into a new world. It's time to put down old, ordinary ways of thinking. We often have a feeling “something isn’t working”. It's common to resort to the same old patterns that got us into trouble in the first place. Through studying the classic Buddhist meditation text Eight Verses of Training the Mind, we will see novel ways to break through mental inertia and creatively respond to the problems of life.
Practiced for thousands of years, these beloved meditative techniques are radical ways to shift our thinking and help us contribute to a better life and better world. We will leave this series ready to fearlessly deal with whatever life throws at us and understand how to make gradual, incremental improvement.
