Accessibility
Whether you're visiting for the day or staying overnight, we're happy to welcome you to KMC New York.
We are committed to helping guests with accessibility needs participate in our programs and enjoy their visit. While our rustic retreat center may not meet every accessibility need, we have a variety of accommodations in place and encourage guests to contact us in advance. We are happy to discuss your individual needs, answer questions about the site, and work with you to determine what arrangements may help make your visit comfortable and enjoyable.
Accessible Rooms
We offer ground-floor accessible single rooms as well as accessible Jack and Jill rooms with bathrooms and showers designed to accommodate guests with mobility needs.
Accessible Bathrooms
Accessible bathroom facilities are available in several areas of the property.
Navigating the Site
KMC New York is a rustic retreat center situated on a wooded property that has developed over many years. Accessibility varies across different buildings and areas of the site.
Our main roads and pathways are surfaced with gravel retention grids, and portions of the property include sloped, uneven, or natural terrain. Distances between buildings may require additional walking or driving. If you have concerns about mobility or navigating the site, please contact us before your visit. We are often able to suggest lodging, parking, and routes that can make participation easier.
Parking close to the Temple and other key buildings can often be arranged for guests with mobility limitations. Please contact us in advance so we can discuss available options and make appropriate arrangements whenever possible.
Wheelchair ramps are available at the Temple and the Main Building dining room.

Assisted Listening
A designated assisted listening section is available and equipped with headphones. If you think you may need this accommodation, you can let us know in advance or speak with one of our volunteers upon arrival, who will be happy to assist you.
Accessible Seating
Most participants choose to sit in chairs, though meditation cushions are available in the front rows. The Temple is generally arranged with ample seating, making it easy to select a preferred seat.
For larger events, if you require an aisle seat or have other seating needs, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Questions
