“When you know your own mind, you will become a Buddha. You should not look for Buddhahood elsewhere.” This quote from Buddhist scriptures is essential and empowering. Instead of externalizing our enlightenment as something far away, we can know that enlightenment, or awakening to our full potential, involves simply knowing our own mind!
Our mind is with us all day, everyday, but if someone asked us “what exactly is your mind?” we may not have a clear answer. The famous and beloved practice, The Six Stages of Mahamudra, is a scientific method to experientially know our own mind in the deepest way. We will see it’s true nature, function, and how it creates our experience of reality. In addition, knowing our mind gives us an incredible power to work with our painful thoughts and move them in a better direction.
