Nyungne Purifying Ritual Practice

April 13 - 15, 2012

During our annual Spring weekend purification retreat, we open our hearts with joy and humility to receive the purifying blessings of 1000 armed Avalokiteshvara. Through fasting, singing melodious prayers, and making beautiful offerings, prostrations and requests, we are guided to draw close to the Buddha of Compassion.

The retreat begins Friday evening with an introductory teaching and continues through the weekend. Each morning we will take the Mahayana precepts, promising not to engage in negative actions of body, speech, and mind, and we will limit our intake of food and water (according to our capacity) to purify our negative Karma. In the Kadampa World Peace Temple, we'll engage as a group in three rounds of prayers and prostrations each day. Everyone is welcome to experience this profound and blessed practice.

	Friday evening introduction: $10
	Weekend sessions are free.
