The Union of Life and Lamrim
Living Joyfully as a Modern Day Kadampa
(with Mahayana Refuge Ceremony)with Gen Kelsang Dao
Friday-Sunday, February 15-17
Our human life is precious, and in the midst of day-to-day busyness and constant distractions, it is easy to waste it on unimportant things. Our wisdom may cause us to long for a more spiritual and meaningful life, but often we feel there is simply no time left in the day for spiritual practice.
By following the instructions of Kadam Dharma, we can learn methods to integrate all our daily activities into clear Lamrim meditations and discover a practical path to pure happiness. Relying on the Three Jewels of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha – enlightened beings, Buddha’s teachings, and spiritual friends – everything we do and everyone we encounter throughout our life can help us gain spiritual realizations leading to a deeper inner peace.
At the end of this course, there will be a special Mahayana Refuge Ceremony for those who wish to enter the Buddhist family or to renew their Refuge Vows.

When traveling somewhere we have never been before, we want a map and obvious signs to guide us. Adorning the Kadampa World Peace Temple at KMC NY through the kindness of its designer, Ven. Geshe-la, we find four doorways, the eight auspicious symbols, Dharma wheels and deer, and golden vajras, each rich with spiritual meaning to encourage and inspire us. Undertaking an incredible inner journey, following step by step the clear directions we are given, we can reach the ultimate destination of any traveler – inner and outer peace.
