Journey Along the Middle Way ~
An Emptiness Course with Gen Samten Kelsang
Friday, June 19 – Sunday, June 21
The only way to attain liberation is to realize the Middle Way View of Emptiness. This journey is likened to traveling along a narrow path on either side of which are the steep precipices of the views grasping at extremes: believing that things exist inherently, or believing that since they do not exist inherently they do not exist at all. Holding these views prevents progress on the path to enlightenment, and it is common even for experienced Buddhist practitioners to hold them unknowingly in a subtle form.
During this weekend we will examine how we can deepen our own experience of emptiness through identifying and removing any extreme views that are impeding our understanding of Buddha’s teaching on ultimate truth. The course will focus in a practical way on how we can integrate a clear understanding of the meaning of emptiness with our daily life – and in this way find real peace and lasting happiness.
It is aimed at practitioners who already have a basic understanding of emptiness and wish to deepen this by studying and meditating on Nagarjuna’s presentation of the Middle Way.
Friday, June 19, 8pm – Sunday, June 21, 3:30pm
$85, plus accommodations.
