TORMA WORKSHOP

Tormas are special offerings of food that we make to the Buddhas to request attainments. This term comes from two Tibetan words: ‘tor’ indicates that these ritual offerings are so beneficial that we should happily spend everything we own on them, and ‘ma’ means mother, reminding us that our correct motivation in doing this should be love and compassion for all living beings.
In this hands-on workshop, Gen Chonden, master torma maker for the NKT-IKBU, will share his skills and experience in making and decorating tormas. Enrollment is limited to 50.
