Buddhist meditation center serving the NY, Pennsylvania and New Jersey areas.
Situated on 80 acres of tranquil woodland in the beautiful Delaware River Valley in rural upstate New York, the Kadampa Meditation Center New York is approximately a two-hour drive from New York City.
Everyone is welcome into this special environment, site of the Kadampa World Peace Temple. Guests from all backgrounds come here to enjoy the natural beauty, find rest and refuge from the difficulties of modern busy life, and draw inspiration from spiritual friends.
KMC presently has accommodation for 25 residents, and a range of accommodation options for visitors, from well-appointed singles to dorm and camping.
The Temple is open every day for prayers and personal reflection. Course are scheduled for many weekends, and retreat programs are ongoing throughout the year.
For visitors who wish to engage in meaningful work while at the Center, Working Visits are possible, exchanging food and dorm accommodation for 35 hours of work per week. Varied opportunities include landscaping, painting, cooking, gardening, office work, sewing and more.
Those who wish to simply relax will enjoy the Peace Café, Temple shop, walking paths, picnic areas and quiet corners of the property.
